Never will we forget the day we entered the house of grandfather Willem in the city of Amsterdam. Greeting us in a dark brown suit, with a carefully ironed white shirt and a small handkerchief in his pocket. He led us to the back of his room, where he kept a wooden box with all of his watches. Not just any kind of watches. They were beautiful vintage timepieces that he had collected over the years. It felt like each of them had their own story to tell.

We were two young boys seeking inspiration for a school project when grandfather Willem offered to show us his treasures. We couldn’t imagine that we would also find our passion and greatest inspiration as well. While trying on each unique piece, a new feeling was triggered, we felt invincible, courageous, and strong. Willem watched us with a certain glint in his eyes, as he gave us a valuable life lesson;

Something changed that day, as we experienced an excitement we never felt before. The sophistication and allure of these timepieces had truly mesmerized us. Beautiful leather bands, simple elegant designs, with a unique look through the use of curved convex glass. We knew then and there we had to make this more than just a school assignment. A new dream was born. One day we would make this project come to life and share the beauty of nostalgic, elegant watches with the world.
